剧情简介：
本片讲述的是在一个西部小镇上，约翰警长（约翰．韦恩饰）与因感情问题而颓丧不前、酗酒潦倒的副警长杜德（迪安．马丁饰），两人在无法找到能替他们对付一伙前来报仇劫囚的歹徒时，只好集其两人之力来对抗这帮恶徒。本片是西部片的经典之作，结构完整，在最後一场交换人质的枪战场面拍来显得逼真刺激，人物刻划上是粗中有细，尤其影片中对人际关系有细腻的描写，配乐的主题曲也是犹为感人。
On one side is an army of gunmen dead-set on springing a murderous sidekick from jail. On the other are Sheriff John T Chance and his two deputies: one a drunk, the other a cripple. Place your bets. John Wayne is Chance in Rio Bravo, a lean western classic packing solid heroics and a strong emotional core. He is joined by Dean Martin as the deputy coming off a two-year drunk, Walter Brennan as the old coot whose spirit outmatches his hobbled stride, Ricky Nelson as a youth out to prove himself and Angie Dickinson as a scarlet woman with her eye on Chance. Director Howard Hawks lifted the Western to new heights with Red River. Capturing the legendary West with a stellar cast in peak form, he does it again here.
